One of my greatest weaknesses is Oreo cookies, so when I stumbled on this recipe for fried Oreos on the @kitchenqueens Instagram page on my night to prepare supper, desert naturally took preference. At first the idea to add on to an already incredible biscuit made me question the outcome .You simply heat your oil and submerge the entire cookie into this batter so that it is fully covered and place them in the hot oil . It takes around 2-3 minutes on each side till it is fried golden brown and slightly crispy , frying the Oreos make them melt almost like melted chocolate in a cake , it becomes soft and gooey and adds perfectly to the batter that surrounds it .I also noticed that we had 3 ripe bananas in the kitchen , seeing as it was the month of fasting there was never a day in my home where we didn’t have bananas for sehri ( waking up to begin fasting) be it banana smoothies , banana fry or simply just a banana , it is honestly the most sustaining of foods. Another recipe that I came across was Banana goolgoolas (fritters/mini donuts) . I must add how de-stressing it is to squish bananas! This recipe is absolutely effortless in its execution. Both the Banana goolgoolas which were crunchy on the outside and soft and chew on the inside and the Fried Oreos were a hit in my home , needless to say I got off from clearing the table that evening.
Fried Oreos :
1 Cup flour
2 ½ Tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
2-3 Tbsp Castor Sugar
1 egg
¾ Cup milk
2 Tbsp oil
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
Break egg into cup and top with milk. Add egg mixture to dry ingredients . Add oil and vanilla extract and whisk together .
Dip oreo in batter and deep fry .
Banana goolgoolas:
3 Ripe bananas
1 Cup all-purpose flour
1 Tsp baking powder
½ Tsp salt
¼ Cup brown sugar( I used white)
Pinch of Cinnamon
Oil for frying
Sprinkle icing sugar over both before serving
both taste best while still hot out the frying pan.

P.s - A balanced diet is a batter covered fried cookie in each hand!
